retreating, going incommunicado, discovering the slow joy of anonymity, retreating, cutting off the superfluous, losing self in the routine, hearing the whispers and sounds that constitute a silence, modifying memories *obliviate*, retreating, curling up on a cold floor and going to sleep, not dwelling, never saying, retreating, playing dead.
